VIEWS ON JOINT SERVICES AND CHURCH MEETINGS
In order to help us with future planning we ask that you take the time to answer three questions regarding our Joint Services and three questions about the Church Meetings. The questions are at the back of the Messenger. There will be a box at the back of each branch where you can place your sheet with your views. For your information, I have received no further thoughts or ideas following the write up of the group discussions in last month’s messenger.
If you are reading this on the church website please see September 2016 Messenger

HERITAGE OPEN DAY – 10th September, 2016
I sincerely thank all the people who helped at the Open Day event – those in the kitchen, on the register’s and the costumed characters. The day was very busy with over 70 visitors who obviously came with a special interest in our church and I think we gave an enthusiastic welcome to all. And thanks to the members of our church who came along to support us.
We were also fortunate to have a visit from our MP as well as the Mayor – wow!
Thanks again to all of you for your support

COMMITMENT FOR LIFE PRAYER OCTOBER
Dear Lord When we feel there is no point to our efforts to change the world for the better, because we are so few, help us to remember the African proverb ‘ if you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito’ and give us the courage and the strength to keep going. Amen © Jean Headley

HELP NEEDED In addition to Colin’s regular clearing and cleaning of the Albion building we need help. On the first Friday morning in the month a very small group of volunteers go into Church to do additional jobs to keep the building neat and tidy. If we can get a few more volunteers it would be wonderful. Perhaps individuals could take responsibility for one room / area? Please contact Jean G if you can help in any way. Thank you J

There will be a Guild meeting on Thursday 27 October at 2.30pm.
Because the Guild members are now so few in number, it has not been practical to invite visiting speakers and it has become difficult to arrange meetings. This meeting has been arranged to provide an opportunity to discuss the future of the Guild.
COFFEE MORNING IN AID OF THE CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST
Hello everyone, It is that time of year again. We are raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Please come and join us for lunch, drinks and a lovely catch up. We will be having a raffle and a Bring and Buy Stall too. It is on Saturday 8th October, 11am-1pm, at Charlestown.

Thank you Francesca and Antonia
Cystic fibrosis is one of the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited diseases. Cystic fibrosis is caused by a single defective gene. As a result, the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, become clogged with thick sticky mucus resulting in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs and difficulty digesting food. The Cystic fibrosis Trust supports families, invests in research for new medicines and looks for new ways of treating this disease.
We were very sad to hear of the sudden death of our very dear friend Tom W and we hold Christine, Gill and Carole, Andrew and Paul, Matthew and Jessica very much in our thoughts and prayers. Tom will be very much missed by all in the fellowship. We also hold in our thoughts and prayers Barbara R, Ann S and Larraine W and all those going through a difficult time.
