May 2016 Messenger
This Month’s Letter
Hands that flung stars into space to cruel nails surrendered
Famous words from Graham Kendrick’s hymn, The Servant King, reflecting on God’s creation which is reflected in the child in Bethlehem and the man who gave his life that we might live…the heights and depths of our faith in a few words!
We find ourselves, in the Albion Fellowship, in a similar position to the disciples in the Upper Room, in Galilee and on the road to Emmaus. We need to take courage and guidance from the words of Jesus when we are wondering what will happen and feeling a little lost without local leadership…
We need to look towards the words of Jesus
Love one another as I have loved you.
I will be with you always
Feed my sheep.
Each and every one of us has something to give and some way of helping. So share in these challenging times ahead, be positive, caring and supportive. Dwell not on what is going to happen but how can I help.
God bless us,

COMMITMENT FOR LIFE PRAYER FOR MAY
We never seem to have enough time
Where does it go?
How can such a precious commodity slip so swiftly through our fingers?
Time to work,
Time to play,
Time to laugh,
Time to love.
We fall between the moments that separate the tick from the tock.
We leak time like air from a flat tyre.
One moment there and then it’s gone
and we have so much to do,
so much life to live,
and every activity takes a few more of those priceless seconds.
Those golden minutes,
those sparkling, blissful hours.
We’re racing headlong into eternity.
Help us Lord to still our footsteps.
Take the time to consider what’s important.
Before I finish speaking another child will die as
a direct result of poverty.
Help me to put the chaos of my life into perspective,
Help me to find time to be still and seek your will.
Help me Lord, to stand beside those who leak blood and sweat and tears
as time pours out of them like an ocean.
For time is precious
and should be used wisely.

Chloe – one of the Guides at 9th Ashton (Albion) has gained the Baden Powell Trefoil Award. This is the highest award a Guide can attain. Chloe had to work independently to gain badges and as part of her patrol on “go- for-its”. Chloe did a sponsored silence to raise sufficient funds to adopt two of the donkeys at the Donkey Sanctuary; she arranged a visit for the Guides. The challenge weekend is the final part of the award; Chloe spent a chocolate themed Easter weekend with other Guides from Manchester County. Congratulations Chloe J
